ZELDRA MAE BEEKS, age 92, of Amory, Mississippi, born to the late Joe and Viola Wallace Neal, transitioned and entered into eternal rest Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2017 at the residence of her daughter, Mary Beeks Williams, located 607 York Avenue, York, Alabama. Service of Remembrance is Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ of Amory, located 1206 United Memorial Drive, (formerly Hutton Drive) where Elder David Lewis is pastor. Elder David Lesueur, pastor of Roxanna Independent Church of God and Faith Fellowship will officiate and deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation. Sis. Beeks is to lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. The interment follows in New Hope Cemetery #1, also Amory. Visitation for family and friends begins Thursday evening (Nov. 30th) from 3-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Friday evening, December 1, 2017 from 4-6:00 p.m. visitation is in Amory at Miracle Revival Center, 700 - 109th Street where Elder Duane Gilleylen and Elder Pearlie Ezell are co-pastors. Sister Beek's husband of sixty (60) years, Bro. Willie James Beeks, preceded her in death. She was preceded in by her grandson, Willie Edward Beeks, Jr.; She leaves to cherish her precious memories and to celebrate her life five loving and devoted children: Mary Beeks Williams of York, AL; Brenda Bynum of Hephzibah, GA; Kevin Beeks (Julia) of Tupelo, MS; Elizabeth Denson of Smithville, MS; and LaShun (Lorenzo) Fitch of Beaumont, TX; one loyal sister: Lucille Jackson of Aberdeen, MS; three brothers: C. L. Spencer of Lumber City, GA; Douglas Spencer (Louise) of Smithville, MS; and Willie Frank Spencer of Gary, IN; one sister-in-law: Annie Cross of Elkins Park, PA; two brother-in-laws: Wilbert Beeks of Gary, IN and Robert Beeks of Amory, MS; A daughter-in-law, Royal Jean Beeks, of Los Angeles, CA; 10 grandchildren: Twanda, Thomas, Kimberly, Lawrence, Howard, Lashaunda, Zeldra, La’Jasmine, Kelby and Denzell; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; her church families and other friends.
