TYRONE VAUGHN STEPHENS, SR., age 44, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Sumter County; Alabama transitioned August 27, 2017. Memorial Service of Remembrance was held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from New Hope Baptist Church, 702 North Broad Street, York, Alabama. Rev. Jonathan Byrd delivered the eulogy and offered words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Akiva Burton is church pastor; with Sis. Rachel A. Roberts serving as Mistress of Order. Tyrone, born September 13, 1972 attended Sumter County High School "Go Wildcats", where he played football. He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and joined New Hope at an early age. He was employed by PepsiCo. He loved gardening, caring for the elderly and was an avid, dedicated football fan of the University of Alabama. He moved to Columbus, Ohio twenty years ago and remained until his earthly journey ended. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Annie Mae Wheeler and Eugene Stephens, Jr; a sister, Allison Stephens, a brother, Arnold Lucky; grandparents, Eugene and Pauline Stephens, Sr., and William and Sadie Lucky. Tyrone leaves to cherish precious memories: a wife, Regina Stephens; one son- Tyrone, Jr. and two daughters, TyAnna and Londyn Stephens of Columbus, Ohio; siblings, Linda Alexander, Columbus, OH., Anthony (Winifred) Stephens, Marion, MS., Paula Stephens, York, AL; Ricketta Wallace, Livingston, AL., James (Doris) Stephens, Livingston, AL., Robert Stephens, York, AL., Joan Baxter, Columbus, SC., Jarvis (Joycelyn) Stephens, Lecanto, FL., Anthony (Bernadine) Hill, Tracie (Sherry) Hill, Montgomery, Al; Alfred Lucky, York, AL., Andrew (Clarissa) Lucky, Tampa, FL., Ronald (Lisa) Lucky Portsmith, VA; and Victor Childs, York, Al; sister-in-law, Bridget Lucky; grandmother, Mamie Roberts, York, AL., best friends - Mack Jones, Jr., Quincy Horn and Carlos Wade and numerous other cousins, relatives and friends who loved him dearly and will truly miss him.
