SHIRLEY ANN WHITEHEAD, age 65, of Birmingham, Alabama, born to the union of the late Mitchell and Loretta Hall Whitehead, transitioned and entered into eternal rest December 12, 2018 in Vestavia Hills, Alabama at Mount Royal Towers. Shirley joins her late parents and beloved brother Mitchell Whitehead, Jr. in a Heavenly Reunion. Service of Remembrance is Saturday afternoon, December 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Sledge delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation; Sis. Shirley Guy serving as Mistress of order. Interment follows in the Whitehead family plot of Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 11-East, York, Alabama. At an early age Shirley Joined Friendship Baptist Church, Bellamy, Alabama. She graduated from Sumter County Training School in Livingston. Shirley endured many years of illness but has been set free of the cares of this world. Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate a beautiful life are: two brothers-Clarence Hardin of Chester, PA; and Ned Whitehead,II of Birmingham, Alabama; two nephews-Shedrick Whitehead and Stanley Whitehead, both of Huntsville, AL., other family members including Minnie L. Dillard, also of Birmingham, AL., Delores Brown of Dallas, Tx; April Hardin of Wilmington, Del; a special family friend, Henry A. Ford and numerous other relatives and friends who loved her dearly and whom she also loved. Truly Shirley will be missed!
