Shirley A. Byrd

SISTER SHIRLEY A. BYRD, age 70, of York, Alabama, was born in Greene County, Alabama, April 22, 1953 to the union of Booker T. Hassan and Sarah Hamilton. She peacefully transitioned surrounded by loving family on May 29, 2023 at DCH Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa. Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 12:00 noon from First Baptist Church, 254 McConnell Street, also York, Alabama with her husband, Pastor Jonathan Byrd delivering the eulogy, offering words of comfort and consolation. Deacon Michael Walker and wife Sister Cherrie Walker will serve as Master and Mistress of Order. First Lady Sister Byrd will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Boligee, Alabama in St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends (with closed casket) is scheduled Friday evening, June 2, 2023 from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.
