SISTER SEBELL E. VANN, age 91, was born December 25, 1932 (Christmas Day) the first child of ten to the union of the late Jonas and Olivia Lee Eades in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. She surrendered to the Will of God and peacefully transitioned July 16, 2024 at Diversicare of Meridian, Meridian, MS with loving family present. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5901 Kinterbish 10 Cuba, Alabama. Sis. Vann will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. C. Wayne Davis, pastor, will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation with Sis. Lenora Delaine Brown serving as Mistress of Order. Interment follows in Cagus Cemetery, also off of Kinterbish 10 in Cuba. Her Spiritual sunrise in Christ began at an early age when she united with Springhill Baptist Church of Kewanee, Mississippi. When finishing Stevenson Vocational High School, Toomsuba, MS., she moved to Birmingham, AL where she resided for several years. Later she met and married Thomas Solomon Vann, Sr. and from this union they were blessed with four children. Afterwards she joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Cuba, Alabama. Her work history included having been employed for approximately twenty years at McGregor Printing Company as a machine operator. Following her employment there she enjoyed being able to help wherever she could, thereby becoming a caregiver to numerous people in the East Mississippi and West Alabama area. Cherished memories of a life well-lived shall live on with - her daughter, Rosalind Vann of York, AL, her sons - Thomas Vann, Jr., Meridian, MS and Gregory (Marie) Vann of Madison, MS., grandsons - Roderick Terrell Vann, Phoenix, AZ. and Gregory Vann, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; great grandson Michael Vann Marshall, also of Phoenix; three sisters - Odessa Cooper of Detroit, MI., Mary Gibbs of Lauderdale, MS and Dorothy Jenkins of Pearl, MS; three brothers - Johnny Eades, Cuba AL., James Eades, Lauderdale, MS and Sylvester (Lela) Eades of Detroit, MI; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who truly loved her and whom she also loved.
