Sarah Jane Delaine

SARAH JANE DRAKE DELAINE, age 84 of Cuba, Alabama, entered into eternal rest and softly and tenderly transitioned surrounded by loving family March 19, 2022 at Hill Hospital of Sumter County, York, Alabama. Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, located 5051 Kinterbish 10, of Cuba. Rev. C. Wayne Davis, pastor, is to deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; with Sister Lenora Delaine Brown to serve as Mistress of Order. Interment follows in the Delaine family plot of Cagus Cemetery, also Kinterbish 10, Cuba. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (March 25th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Mother Sarah was a devoted and active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the choir, a Sunday School teacher, and was in charge of the kitchen committee. She was educated in the Sumter County Public Education System and furthered her education by becoming a Registered Nurse in the medical field for over 38 years. She absolutely "loved" people and making them feel better. Her loving survivors are: her loving children; a devoted daughter and caregiver, Audrey Delaine Graves sons - Eddie Drexel (Cathy) Delaine, Michael Delaine and Keith Delaine, her siblings; Willie James (Dora) Drake, Mary (Robert) Taylor, Thelma Drake and Linda (Darryl) Leak, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; wonderful sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, neighbors, church members, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly and whom she also loved.
