RUTH ANN NIXON, age 66, from North Hollywood, California, born in Sumter County, Alabama to the union of L.S. and Christine Sturdivant Nixon, transitioned and entered into eternal rest August 31, 2021 in Providence St. Joseph Hospital, Burbank, CA. Graveside Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gibbs Family Cemetery, County Road 27, Cuba, Alabama. Rev. Coley Rodgers will deliver the eulogy, offering expressions of comfort and consolation; with Sister Vickie Fluker to serve as Mistress of Order. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Sept. 24th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. ***Note: Due to the increase in Alabama of the Delta variant of Covid, we will adhere to wearing masks and other considerations for the public's health, safety and well-being.*** She leaves to celebrate a beautiful well-lived life: a devoted son, Breckney S. (Ladia Hancock) Nixon El, Ft. Worth, Texas; eight sisters - Dorothy Gaines, Milwaukee, WI, Annie Lee (Arthur) Collins, Lawrenceville, GA, Rosie Bias, Mary Nixon and Betty Burton, all of Livingston AL, and Gloria Brunson of Cuba, Al; two of eight having preceded her in death -Shirley Nixon and Martha Haywood; four (4) grandchildren- Malajah, Imani, Breckney and Ahmari Nixon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; one special cousin L. T. Bell who was like a big brother; special friend, Thomas Dumas and the Shaw family of Hayward, California.
