ROBERT LEE RUFFIN, age 73 of York, Alabama, born to the late B. C. and Gracie Lee McMillan Ruffin, transitioned and entered into eternal rest, April 8, 2019 in Specialty Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi. Service of Remembrance is slated for Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Weatherly Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy E. Johnson will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation; with Sis. Arnetta Lucky serving as Musician. Interment follows in Mount Herman Cemetery, 1930 Millville Road, also York. Visitation is scheduled Monday evening (April 15th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Robert Lee Ruffin was born in York, Alabama in June of 1945. He joined Rock Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. In his late teens, he moved to Hartford, Ct. where he graduated high school. Robert later moved back home and began working for the Alabama State highway department. He was predeceased by his father, B. C. Ruffin, his mother, Gracie Ruffin and his brothers, Raymond Ruffin and Nathaniel McMillan. Robert was a retired highway technician who had a passion for raising farm animals and gardening. His bubbly personality and silly jokes will be missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his sisters – Annie Woodard, Hattie (Shawn) Davis, Ida (Turner) Sims and Dorothy (Robert) Henry; his brothers – B. C. Ruffin, Jr., and Willie Ruffin; his three (3) daughters – Pamela Love, Felicia Ruffin and Moshanique Compton; his sons (3) – Rodrick (Lanique) Ruffin, Fredrick Ruffin and Kendrick (Kimberly) Ruffin, 24 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
