OLLIE MAE COLEMAN, age 95, of York, Alabama, born in Bellamy; Sumter County, Alabama to the late Nelson and Charlotte Lee Hooks, entered into eternal rest January 24, 2018 in Rush Foundation Medical Center, Meridian, Mississippi.       Service of Remembrance will be Sunday, January 28, at 2:00 p.m. from Eastern Star Baptist Church, located 112 Curl Road in the Grant City community of York with Rev. Charles H. Delaine, pastor, delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation.  Sister Coleman will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment follows in the Garden of Peace in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 11 East, York. After the committal service, repast will be at the Livingston Civic Center, on the UWA Campus, Livingston.  On Sunday afternoon at 1:40, the processional will leave from the Coleman residence.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Saturday evening (Jan. 27th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.       She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mazie Coleman and to this union were born two daughters;  both her husband and daughters having preceded her in death.       Sister Coleman was a devoted, loyal member of Pine Grove Baptist Church for many, many years.  Later she changed her membership closer home and joined Easter Star Baptist Church.  Her favorite quote was "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help" (Psalm 121:1)       For thirty-nine (39) years and ten months, she was a devout educator employed with the Sumter County Board of Education.  She was extremely active throughout the years in numerous local, state and national affiliations that she took great pride in being an active participant in each one.       Those who remain to celebrate and cherish a purposeful, productive life of longevity are:  three (3) grandchildren- Devon (Vicky) Gibbs, Chicago, IL., Christa (Barrington) Brown, Kissimmee, Florida and Herlecia (Anthony Leach-Gonzalez) Owens of Brooklyn, N.Y.- five great grandchildren;  a son-in-law, Donald Finucane, Chicago, IL; and numerous other family and friends who loved her dearly and she will truly be missed by all.       To the entire Coleman family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathies and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your many of bereavement.
