NATAYIA DENISE HANDY, age 39, of York, Alabama, born to the union of Dessie Marie Bell and John Henry Handy on May 20, 1982, transitioned and entered into eternal rest November 12, 2021 at 10:43 p.m. in Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian, MS. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Morning Star Cemetery, 4044 Dove 2, Cuba. Rev. Coley Rodgers, Sr., pastor of New Jones Baptist Church, Emelle, will deliver the eulogy, offering words of comfort and consolation; with Dr. Cynthia Jemison to serve as Mistress Of Order. She confessed her faith in Christ and joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age. While attending, she was a loyal member who served on the Usher Board. She graduated from Sumter County High School in the class of 2000 and she furthered her education by obtaining a degree at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Those who have preceded Natayia in death are her grandparents, Ora Dee and R. D. Bell, Hamp Little and Annie Bell Bradley. Leaving to cherish precious memories and to celebrate a beautiful life are: a loving, devoted mother, Dessie Marie (Robert) Thomas, loving father John (Cheryl) Handy; loving grandmother, Bessie Lee Little of Pine Mt, GA; one devoted brother, Rodney DeSharn Gibbs, Butler, AL; three sisters - La'Wonda Gibbs, Hueytown, AL, Alecia Townsend of Mobile, AL. and ShaQuondra President of Pennington, AL; four loving aunts - Wilma Bell, Cuba, AL, Anna Williams, Lovina Brooks, Akron, OH and Ruth Handy of Scooba, MS; four uncles, R. D. Bell, Jr, Akron, OH and Hamp (Rhonda) Little, Jr, Pine Mt, GA, Willie Bradley, Scooba, MS and Frederick Parker of Meridian, MS; one loving niece that she raised as her own-Na'kyri Gibbs who she loved dearly, a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins and friends; a few special cousins who stood by her side closely during her illness - Tom Bell, Tommy Vaughan, Janet Johnson, Darryl Johnson, LaShun Wallace, Kenisha Bell, Shayla Little and Renita Smith; her two special friends- Bobbie Bolden and Nekesha Woodard; many other cousins, relatives and friends who will truly miss her.
