MICHAEL FITZGERALD ADAMS, SR., age 59, born July 26, 1964 in York, Alabama to the union of the late George Finley, Jr. and Ruby Moss Adams. Michael peacefully transitioned and entered into eternal rest on Friday afternoon, January 19, 2024 at 3:40 p.m. at Ochsner Rush Health Medical Center, Meridian, Mississippi. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from Morning Star Baptist Church, Bellamy, Alabama with Rev. Ronald Chaney delivering the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Michael Howard, Sr. is church pastor; with Deacon Marcus Campbell serving as Master of Order. Michael will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Visitation for family and friends is Scheduled Friday evening (26th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. The processional will leave from Michael's residence, located 3181 Lynn Bennett Road, York, AL. on Saturday afternoon at 12:40 for the church. Michael accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church of York, Alabama. He was educated in the Sumter County Public School System. He was a well-known and very skilled football player for Sumter County High. He graduated from SCHS in 1982. He furthered his education at Miles College and where he continued to play football. Michael was a hardworking man learning his work habits from his grandfather, the late Deacon Julius (Hope) Moss. He kept a well manicured home and lawn because he took pride in working in his yard. He worked numerous jobs, the last one being SAIIA Construction, Demopolis, Alabama where he served as a dump truck driver. He was affectionately known on his job as "The Sand Man." Michael leaves to cherish his memories; one (1) daughter, Mialeka Adams of Birmingham, AL., two (2) sons, Curtis D. Donald of Lorain, OH and Michael F. Adams, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; four (4) grandchildren; Makiyah, Matayah, Curtis Jr. and Malikah Donald; one sister, Gwendolyn Carter of York, AL., two (2) brothers; Jimmy (Delois) Patrick, Columbus, OH. and Tyrone (Dorothy) Moss of Akron, OH; seven (7) aunts; having a special relationship with his aunt Edna; three uncles; numerous nieces, cousins; he had a special relationship with his cousin, Kimberly Epps-Moore; his nephew, Jacorey Moss who was like a son; his life-long friend Edwin Dunigan and many relatives and friends who loved him and will forever cherish his memories.
