Mattye Young Terrell

MATTYE YOUNG TERRELL, age 86, of Ward, Sumter County, Alabama, was born May 29, 1938 to the blessed union of the late Johnny and Susie Ward Young.  She peacefully transitioned and God welcomed her into His Holy Kingdom at her residence on January 7, 2025.  Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 a. m. in the Weatherly Funeral Home Chapel.  Her nephew, Rev. Samuel Ezell will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; with Sister Shirley Ezell serving as Mistress of Order.  Her nieces and nephews will be the musicians for the service.  Interment follows in Saint John Cemetery, 1225 Shorts 15, also Ward, Alabama; ending with Repast in the St. John Fellowship Hall.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Jan, 17th) from 2-5:00 p.m. from the Weatherly Chapel.

Mattye was predeceased by her husband Andrew Terrell, son, Kenneth; parents; sister, Mary (Robert) James, brother, John A. (Lovonia) Young; sister, Florine (Jessie) Ezell; and brother, Joe C. (Molendy) Young,  She leaves to reminisce about her, a host of nieces, nephews, church and social affiliations, and numerous friends; all of whom she cherished deeply.
