MARY RUTH COLEMAN, age 69, of Cuba, Alabama, born the tenth of eleven children to the union of the late (L. G.) Lugusta and Ethel Larkin Delaine, transitioned and entered into eternal rest at her residence, May 4, 2019. Service of Remembrance is slated for Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5051 Kinterbish 10, Cuba. Rev. Walter Ball will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Christopher Wayne Davis is church pastor. Sister Coleman is to lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in the Delaine family plot of Cagus Cemetery, also Cuba. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled May 8, 2019 from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Mary could accomplish anything she set her mind to do and was a master and adept at many trades including Seamstress, Chef, Baker, Interior Designer, Gardener, Hairdresser and Carpenter. Early in life she joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member, serving on the Usher board. Mary graduated from Kinterbish High School in 1967. In 2009, she retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) after enjoying a 30 year tenure with the agency. Possessing a legendary sense of humor, there was no one who didn’t laugh in her presence. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. Her life, joyful memories, smile and sense of humor, and her willingness to help others will always be remembered and cherished by: her three sons, Mitchell (Tsegerada) Coleman Jr., Martin Coleman and Michael (Angel) Coleman; five grandchildren, DeMonte (Dominique) Coleman, Alexis, Keyera, Aaryn and Michael Coleman Jr; three sisters, Viree (Dennis) Bivens, Windsor, Ct., Cecola Delaine, Atlanta, Ga., and Jerry (Johnny) Patrick of York, AL; one brother, Earnest Delaine, Fayetteville, Ga; many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous other relatives and friends who loved her dearly and whom she also dearly loved.
