MAMIE FOSTER ALEXANDER ROBERTS, age 104, of York, Alabama, born to the late Floyd and Tamar Ruffin Foster in Choctaw County; Alabama, transitioned and entered into eternal rest at her residence December 22, 2017. Service of Remembrance is Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church, 254 McConnell Street with Rev. Akiva Burton delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Jonathan Byrd is church pastor. Sis. Roberts will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in the garden of "Peace" in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 11 East, also York, Alabama. After the committal service, repast and fellowship is in the Old Interstate Ford Building, downtown York. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday afternoon from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel and from 4:00-6:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church, Highway 17 North, York, Alabama. New Hope was the church where Sis. Roberts late husband, Rev. C. M. Roberts in 1976 deeded the land and built the church that she and many relatives have maintained their membership throughout the years. Those who remain to celebrate such a beautiful purposeful full life of longevity and to cherish precious memories are: Three children - Floyd Alexander and Christine Roberts Deloach, both of York, Alabama and Lola Alexander Powe of Saginaw, Michigan; numerous grandchildren; great and great-great grandchildren, friends, neighbors and loyal church members who loved her dearly and truly she will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her.
