LEON JOHNSON, age 60, of Cuba, Alabama, affectionately known as "Poke" born in Ward, Alabama to the union of the late James Dan and Annie Maude Sheffield Johnson, transitioned June 14, 2020 at Hill Hospital of Sumter County. Graveside Service of Memory is slated for Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Coakes Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Joyce McCoy, (pastor of Union Chapel C.M.E.) will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation. Visitation for family and friends is Saturday afternoon (June 20th) from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. ***Due to the Corona Virus, we at Weatherly Funeral Home continue to observe Social Distancing and the Wearing of Masks for the Health and Well being of Everyone. We therefore ask that you will do likewise.*** Those who have preceded Leon in death are his parents; and those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate his life are: five sons and a daughter; Quentin Sturdivant, Franklin, VA, Jason Sturdivant, Tuscaloosa, AL., Christopher Coleman, Bellamy, AL, Terrance Sturdivant, and Jamie Sturdivant, both of Murfreesboro, TN., and Shavon Jones of York, Alabama; nine (9) siblings; Ola Pears, Mobile, AL., Mayola Sheffield Robinson, Emelle, AL., Mildred Sheffield Delaine, Cuba, AL, Clifton Johnson, Ward, AL, Mark Johnson, Guntersville, AL, James Donald Johnson, Chattanooga, TN, Audrey Johnson Speight, Ward, AL, Gregory Johnson, Cuba, AL., and Valita Johnson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and very special friends, Warren and LeCretia Nelson, Sr. of Ward, Alabama; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who will truly miss him.
