KENNETH "Kenny" YARBROUGH, age 60, of Bessemer, Alabama, the "baby boy" of eleven children was born in Sumter County July 12, 1961 to the union of the late Jimmy Lee and Velma Yarbrough. He peacefully transitioned November 21, 2021 at UAB Medical Center, Birmingham. Graveside Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday morning, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in New Bethel Cemetery, 12171 Sumter 24, Gainesville, Alabama, with Prophet Glenn Harris, Sr., of the New Antioch Witness Church officiating. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening, November 26th from 2-5:00 P.M. in the Weatherly Chapel. As a young man, he attended Sunlight Baptist Church with his mother. Kenneth acknowledged his faith in God and held firm to his faith in God until the end of his earthly journey. Kenny was preceded in death by five brothers - Jimmy Lee "C" Yarbrough, Jr., John, S.L. and Archie Yarbrough and Benjamin "Rob" Brown; two sisters, Mary L. Johnson and Hanna Yarbrough. Kenny was educated in the Sumter County School System and graduated from Livingston High School. After high school Kenny attended truck driving school and hauled all over the United States without the benefit of GPS. He lived in Detroit, MI and would later make his home in Bessemer, Alabama. In his final days he fought a courageous battle with great dignity and resolve. Kenny leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Annetta McGhee Yarbrough; a daughter, Jaela Kanosha Yarbrough, two sisters - Ann Bailey, Sandy Springs, GA and Velma Stephens of Helena, AL; two brothers, Ellis Ed Yarbrough, Gainesville, AL and Lieutenant (Sandra) Yarbrough, also Gainesville, AL; one sister-in-law, Cynthia (John) Yarbrough of Detroit, MI; eleven nieces and nine nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends who will truly miss him.
