Julia Lee Whitfield, age 93, of Boyd, Alabama, born to the late William and Lena Bostic Maxwell, made her heavenly transition in Birmingham, Alabama at the UAB Medical Center Complex, September 4, 2017. Service of Remembrance is Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Central Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 7053 Carl Turk 12, Boyd, Alabama. Rev. Edmond Bell, pastor of Shiloh Zion Baptist Church, will offer words of comfort and consolation; Dr. Greg Watkins is church pastor. Sister Whitfield will lie in repose ninety (90) minutes prior to funeral service time. Interment follows in Old Mt. Olive Cemetery, located in the Payneville Community of Livingston. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (September 8th) from 3-6:00 p. m. in the Weatherly Chapel. For 64 years she was the loving and devoted wife of Pastor Lieutenant Whitfield, who preceded her in death, September 14, 2010.
She leaves her precious memories: Eight children: Milton (Della) of Boyd, AL., Loretta (Joseph) Danner of Livingston, AL, Lucretia (Cleophus) Childress of Columbus, GA., Lena of Columbus, GA., Alphonso of Boyd, AL., Mamie of Boyd, AL., Marvin (Carolyn) Whitfield of Dacula, GA, and Essie (Willie, deceased) Ponius of Detroit, MI; nineteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother: Willie James (Emma James) Maxwell of Panola, AL; One brother–in-law: Brown (Juanita, deceased) Whitfield of Bessemer, AL; One sister-in-law: Madie Prude of Boyd, AL . Julia Lee Whitfield leaves her love to a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.
