REV. JIMMY HARRIS, age 65 of York, Alabama, Born June 3, 1953 to the late Marshall and Annie Bell Harris of Bellamy, Alabama. He was the 4th child of six. He confessed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Gibbs, where he remained a faithful member until his death. Jimmy transitioned and entered into eternal rest September 25, 2018 at his residence. Service of Remembrance is Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from Morning Star Baptist Church, 70 Pine St NE, Bellamy, Alabama. Rev. Marcus Lawrence is to deliver the eulogy with Rev. Tyrone Thomas offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Michael Howard is church Pastor with Sister Jeanette Nations serving as Mistress of Order. Interment follows in Mt. Powell Cemetery, Highway 11 East in York. After the committal service repast is in the Cafeteria of York West End Jr. High School. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday, October 5, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday afternoon, the processional leaves at 12:30 P.M. from the Harris Family residence located at 208 Wrenn Street. He attended Sumter County training school then graduated from Sumter County High School in 1971. After he joined the US Navy he transferred to the Army Unit 638 ORD to serve in the Gulf War. He was United In Holy Matrimony to Glendora Fluker Harris. He was proceeded in death by his Mother and Father; a sister, Wilma Kimble, a brother, Gwenard Harris, and a grandson, Jeremy Fluker. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife of 40 years, Glendora Harris of York, Alabama, two daughters, Kaiesha Harris and Kimberly Fluker, two sons, Keith Harris and Kenneth Fluker all of Huntsville, Alabama, two sisters, Debra Wilson and Yolanda Lewis, one brother, Charles Lee (Jean) all of California; a special cousin, Lewis Allen (Elloise) of Georgia, one half-brother, Melvin Hill (Kitty) of Florida; eight grandchildren: Justin, Jonathan, Kymaria, Nykalia, Keandre, Javon, Keyshawn, Rickeria; one great grandchild, Jerrica; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. As our dear friend and colleague Jimmy was an employee of Weatherly Funeral Home, all of the "Weatherly Family" offers the entire Harris Family our most sincere and heartfelt sympathies and condolences. Our constant prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend a measure of comfort and strength and will sustain you during your many hours of sorrow.
