James Arthur Lucky

October 24, 1948 — August 8, 2019

JAMES ARTHUR LUCKY, age 70, of Lorain, Ohio, affectionately known as "King Arthur", born to the union of the late Sudie B. Jones and William Lucky, Sr, passed August 8, 2019 in the University Hospital of Elyria with his family at his side.  James was born October 24,1948 in York, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.  James was a Personnel Manager at Rob Roy in York, Alabama; also the Sanitation Department in York; McDonald Aircraft in St. Louis, Missouri and volunteered at Meals on Wheels in Lorain.  He enjoyed music, cooking, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by brothers, William Lucky, Jr. and Roy Lucky; sisters- Clara Williams, Rosie McCuller, Mildred Smoot and Earnestine Moody; sons - Richard Jones, Brandon Bromley, Rico Lucky, Carlos Lucky and Cortez Landrum; a daughter Catrina Craig; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, an abundance of nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, William and Sudie B. Lucky; brothers, Clyde, Sam, and Andrew Lucky; sisters, Ollie Mae Amerson and Mary Julia Amerson; two nephews, William Overton, Sr. and James McCuller, Sr.  He is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends who will truly miss "King Arthur". Service of Remembrance will be Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Weatherly Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Byrd, pastor of First Baptist Church, York, Alabama, delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation; and Sister Martha Carlisle serving as musician.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Aug. 23rd) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.  Interment follows (with Military Detail) in  the Lucky family plot of Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 11 East, York, Alabama.
