James Roy Dubose

JAMES ROY DuBOSE, age 65, of York, Alabama, born in Ward, Alabama to the union of the late Lewis and Liberty Ward DuBose, peacefully transitioned January 23, 2022 at 5:35 pm at Hill Hospital of Sumter County. Graveside Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in Ward Chapel Cemetery, Shorts County Road 15, Ward. Rev. Jimmie Williams will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation, with Sis. Velma Stephens serving as Mistress of Order. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Jan. 28th) from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister - Ruby Lee Dubose and three brothers - Winston, Cleveland and Lonzie Dubose. Those who remain to cherish precious memories are: a devoted wife, Geneva DuBose, (3) sons - Michael Bell, Demetric Dubose and Jamarkus Hair; one daughter - Katela (Mike) Asberry; two sisters - Gloria Dubose and Dorothy Dubose; one brother - Alphonso (Renee) Dubose; (13) grandchildren - Jordan, D'Mia, Michael, Demetria, Makya, Keyonne, Kaleiyah, Kaylin, Kameron, Mariah, McKenzie, Kaidance and Jakob; one great grandchild, Ava Bell, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly. To his wife Geneva and the entire DuBose/Bell Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home, offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.
