FRANKIE MAE WEATHERSPOON, age 79, of York, Alabama, was born in Cuba; Sumter County, Alabama on January 17, 1944 to the union of the late Frank and Bessie Nettles Matthews. Ms. "Frankie Mae" peacefully transitioned January 18, 2023 at Hill Hospital of Sumter County. Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 1000 Old US Highway 11, Cuba with Rev. Chris Holcombe, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Whitfield, Alabama delivering the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. James P. Granger is church pastor. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening, February 3, 2023 from 3-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday afternoon, the processional (funeral cortege) leaves from Weatherly for the cemetery at 12:40 p.m. Please turn on flashing headlights for safety.
