FANNIE M. BROWN, age 86, of Emelle, Alabama, affectionately known as "''Noot" and "TeeTee", was born October 28, 1937. She transitioned and entered into eternal rest surrounded by loving family November 20, 2023 at 3:55 a.m. at Trend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Meridian, Mississippi. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 40 JT Watt Road, Geiger, Alabama. Rev. Wendell Paris will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Gerry C. Parker is church pastor with Sister Carolyn Dailey serving as Mistress of Order. Sister Brown will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Emelle Community Memorial Gardens. Repast to fellowship with family and friends is at the Emelle Town Hall. Visitation is scheduled Friday evening (Nov. 24th) from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday morning at 10:40 a.m. the processional leaves from the Town Hall, located 123 Dailey Avenue, Emelle. She confessed faith In Christ as a child and joined St. Peter Baptist Church, later uniting with the West Union Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the late Rev. Sylvester Russell. During her youth Fannie attended Wechsler School and Kate Griffin High School, both in Meridian, Mississippi. She worked in various job capacities, but she was notably the first African American to be appointed to the Board of Registrars Office of Sumter County, Alabama. Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate a beautiful well-lived life are: her loving husband, Julius G. Brown, Emelle, AL., two daughters; Gloria (the late Del) Mayo of Emelle AL, and Rhonda Brown, Chicago, IL; three sons, Johnnie Ware of Bakersfield, CA, Joel (Yolanda) Brown, Abilene, TX., and the late Reginald Brown; a special son, Coach William (Martha) Taylor of Scooba, MS; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Robinson of Livingston, AL., a sister-in-law, Dianne (James) Jackson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one special cousin, Winnie Boyd and a special neighbor Rosie Burrell; a host of nieces, nephews; plus numerous other relatives and friends who loved Fannie dearly and whom she also loved. Truly Fannie "Noot" will be greatly missed!
