Deantre Lard

DeAntre ("DeBo") Lard, age 62, of Birmingham, Alabama, born to the late Albert and Velma Horn Lard, Sr., in Sumter County; Alabama, transitioned and entered into eternal rest December 8, 2017 at the residence of his sister, Mary L. Walker of Cuba, Alabama.  Service of Remembrance is Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Elizabeth Baptist Church, 5917 Luther Ray Cobb Road, Lauderdale, Mississippi.  Rev. Richard Wilson, (pastor of Smith Chapel Baptist Church, York, Alabama) will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation;  Rev. Reginald Gaddis is church pastor.  Mr. Lard will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment follows in Pack Cemetery, also Lauderdale.  At 10:40 a.m. Saturday morning, the processional leaves from the Walker residence, located 4760 Sumter 27, Cuba.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening, December 15, 2017 from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.         De'Antre accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Elizabeth Baptist Church, Lauderdale.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Charles and Albert Lard.        Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate his life are:  three (3) sisters- Mamie (James) Tanksley, Chicago, IL., Mary (Ben) Walker, Cuba, AL., and Bernice (Daniel) Jones of Waynesboro, MS;  three (3) brothers- Otis Lard, Chicago, IL., Curtis Lard, Cuba, AL., and Ben Lard of Lawrenceville, GA.  He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly and he will truly be missed by all.             To the entire Lard family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your many hours of bereavement.
