DEANNA LENETTE FLUKER, age 32, was born in York; Sumter County, Alabama on September 16, 1992 to the blessed union of Tammy Fluker-Artis and the late Emerson McIntosh. She peacefully transitioned to the Will of God in Memphis, TN. April 10, 2025. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the gymnasium of Sumter Central High School, located 13878 US 11, York, Alabama. Rev. Tyrone Thomas (Pastor, Morning Star Baptist Church, Livingston, AL.) will deliver the eulogy, offering words of comfort and consolation; with Sister Audrey Graves as Musician and Sisters Bernice Nixon and Priscilla Foster serving as Co-Mistresses of Order. Interment and Service of Committal follows in Mount Powell Church Cemetery, 11305 US Highway 11, also York, AL. After the Committal, Repast to dine and fellowship is in the Schools' Cafeteria. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (April 25th) from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday morning, the Processional leaves from the funeral home at 11:40 a.m.
DeAnna's spiritual sunrise in Christ began early in life as she accepted her Lord and Savior by joining Mt. Powell Baptist in York, Alabama. She attended school in the Sumter County School System at York West End and Sumter County High, York, Alabama and further attended Birmingham City Schools at PD Jackson-Olin High School where she graduated in 2011. She was also a student of Fortis Institute and Lawson State College, also Birmingham.
Those who preceded her in death were her grandparents; Simmie Fluker and Eunice McIntosh; great grandparents, Ben and Cherrie Lard; two uncles, Demetrius Giles and Tony McIntosh and brother Terrence Turner. Those who remain to cherish and celebrate her precious memories are: two sons that she loves dearly; Jaccari Fluker and Jace Buffington; a loving mother, Tammy Fluker-Artis of Birmingham, AL; step dad Terry Artis, York, AL; sisters; Shaquita (Calvin) James, Jacksonville, FL, Ashley Fluker, Livingston, AL and Tamya Turner of Birmingham, AL; one brother, Chris Wiley, Bellamy, AL; grand parents; Martha Chisem, Birmingham, AL; God Parent, Yolanda Dawson, York, AL; aunts - Valory (Patrick) Sanders, Birmingham, AL, Yolanda Maye, Atlanta, GA, Erma (Bernard) Johnson, Ward, AL, Bertha (Edward) Dunnigan, Jackie McIntosh, Tomekia McIntosh and Eunice McIntosh, all of Bellamy, AL, Vernell (Melvin) Hill of Crestville, FL; a special aunt, Ossie Hubbard of Chicago, IL; two uncles - Lloyd and Randy McIntosh, both of Bellamy, AL; two special cousins; Randashia and Sheree, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.who loved her dearly and whom she also loved. Truly DeAnna will be missed!
