DANIEL MOSES ("DM") RODGERS, age 80, was born May 20, 1941 in Jachin; Choctaw County, Alabama to the union of the late Lee Andrew and Willie Tom Goodwin Rodgers. He peacefully transitioned in Livingston, Alabama at his son's residence January 14, 2022 surrounded by loving family. Graveside Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Gibbs Cemetery, County Road 27, the Morning Star Community of Cuba, Alabama with his son Rev. Coley L. Rogers (Pastor, New Jones Baptist Church, Emelle, AL) delivering the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation. Visitation is scheduled Friday evening, January 21, 2022 from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Daniel confessed Christ at a very early age and joined Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Jachin, Alabama. He was ordained a deacon on February 11,1990 and faithfully served in this capacity until his health began to fail. Those who have preceded him in death are his parents, an infant son, one sister, Annie Pearl Rodgers and one brother Johnny Ed Rodgers. Deacon Rodgers leaves a legacy to cherish his memories: two sons - Coley (Sandra) Rogers, Livingston, Alabama and Daniel (Denise) Rogers of Cuba, Alabama; two daughters - Egetta Blakely, Butler, Alabama and Louise Rodgers, Livingston, AL; five sisters - Janice Rodgers, Leah Tate, Lena Buchanan, Edna and Annie Rodgers Gamble, all of Hartford, Connecticut; six brothers - Levi, Jimmy, Wilbert, Joe Lewis, Joe Evans and Clarence Rodgers, all also from Hartford, Connecticut; eight grandchildren;; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins that loved him dearly and whom he also loved.
