DAISY MAE IVORY, age 87, of York, Alabama, was born April 12, 1934 to the union of the late Fred and Minnie Grant Howze. On February 16, 2022 she peacefully transitioned at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation of York. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, located 254 McConnell Street, York, Alabama with Rev. Christopher Wayne Davis, pastor of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Cuba, Alabama delivering the eulogy, offering words of comfort and consolation, with Sister Bernice Nixon serving as Mistress of Order. Rev. Jonathan Byrd is church pastor. Interment to follow in Mount Herman Cemetery, Millville Road 19, also York, Alabama. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Feb 25th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Sister Ivory is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers and one sister. Those who remain to cherish precious memories are: six (6) sisters - Dorothy Delaine, Nancy Glover, Eloise Townsend, Carol Russell, Ethel Wright and Mildred Faye Merriweather; two brothers - Leo and Leroy Howze, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, church members and others who loved her dearly and whom she also loved.
