CYNTHIA YOLANDA STURDIVANT, age 49, of Decatur, Alabama, affectionately known as YO-YO, was born December 7, 1972 in Greene County, Alabama to the union of the late Johnnie Lee and Catherine McCoy Sturdivant. She peacefully transitioned surrounded by loving family at Decatur Morgan Medical Center, Decatur, at 7:47 p.m. on July 10, 2022. Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate a beautiful well-lived life are: three loving children; Katie Guyton Sturdivant, Demitric and Terrance Martin; three grandchildren- Katelynn, Skylar and Oaklen; twelve sisters and brothers - James L (Della) Sturdivant, Carol Sturdivant, Gary (Michelle) Sturdivant and Tony Sturdivant, all of York, AL, Vontean Rogers, Tonell (James) Donald of Peoria, IL, Leopoled Sturdivant, Anderson, IN, Kathy Jean Sturdivant, Pearland, TX., Melinda (Tim) Bowers, Decatur, AL, Jacqueline Sturdivant-Donald, Jackson, MS/Decatur, AL, Dennis (Acacia) Sturdivant, Madison, AL and Denise Sturdivant, Enterprise, AL; thirty-six (36) nieces and nephews, thirty-five (35) great nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends who loved her dearly and whom she also loved. She had one loving sister, Shiron that preceded her in death. Truly "Yo-Yo" will be greatly missed. Graveside Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sturdivant Family plot of Mount Herman Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Willie Sims, pastor will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation, with Sister Renee Pringle serving as Mistress of Order. Friends and associates are welcomed to fellowship with the Sturdivant family (Friday, July 22nd) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.
