CONNIE POPE, age 94, of Red Bay, Alabama, born in Myrtle, Alabama to the union of the late Bro. Willie Pope and Sis. Susie Johnson Pope, transitioned and entered into eternal rest January 08, 2021 at 8:00 p.m in Generation of Red Bay Nursing Facility. Graveside Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, 11313 US Highway 11, York, Alabama. Rev. Jonathan Byrd, (pastor of First Baptist Church, York, AL) will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation; with Rev. Darrell Jones giving a prayer of comfort and scriptures from the old and new testament. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Thursday evening, January 14, 2021 from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Connie Pope attended school in Rising Star School, Myrtle, Alabama. He joined the Missionary Church in Loachapoka, Alabama where he served as a Deacon until his health began to fail. He then was a patient in a Pleasant Grove Nursing Care facility and was later transferred to Generation of Red Bay where he eventually passed and ascended to his prepared Heavenly home. Those who remain to cherish precious memories are: one sister, Sis. Louise P. Alexander and one brother, Bro. Milton Pope, Sr. both of York, Alabama; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
