CHARLIE LEWIS ROWE, age 78, of Wichita, Kansas, affectionately known as "CL" was born July 20, 1946 in Halsell, Alabama to the blessed union of the late Wils and Luella Stevens Rowe. He peacefully transitioned March 22, 2025 to the Will of God surrounded by loving family at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 3:00 pm from Wesley Chapel CME Church, located 100 Second Avenue, in the Grant City Community of York, AL. Rev. Dr. Phillip Ertha will be the officiating minister delivering the eulogy, offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Clarence Lucious is church pastor.  Brother Rowe will lie in repose from 1:30 p.m. until funeral time.  Interment follows with Full Military Detail in Fairfield CME Cemetery, located in Halsell on the Lisman, AL route in Choctaw County.  On Saturday afternoon at 2:15 p.m. the processional leaves from the residence of Dorothy Lake; 201 Stokes Avenue (AGS Quarters) of York.

At an early age CL's sunrise in Christ began when he became a baptized member of Wesley Chapel CME Church. He attended West End High School in 1964 where he was an all-around athlete. Shortly after completing high school, he enlisted in the US. Air Force October 15, 1964. He was stationed at many tours, both domestic and abroad, including Texas, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, Utah, Missouri, Kansas, the Philippines and most notably, Vietnam. He retired from the military after a successful 24 year career. He then went to work for Boeing Aircraft where he worked as a photographer.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Willie James Rowe and his sister Arlene Rowe. Those who remain to cherish precious memories of a remarkable life are: his loving wife of 49 years, the former Alice Causey Little Rowe; his son Charlie A. Rowe and daughter, Vanessa Rowe; three grandsons,, Alec and Austin McCartney and Charlie A. Rowe, Jr; three brothers, Douglas Rowe, Archie Rowe and Timothy Rowe; one aunt Mattie Patrick; two sisters-in-law, Willie B. Rowe and Mattie Austin and numerous adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charlie, loved his family. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be deeply missed!
