REV. CHARLES H. DELAINE, age 83, of Cuba, Alabama, born to the union of the late Allie Parker and Pallee Grant Delaine, peacefully transitioned at Hill Hospital of Sumter County, January 22, 2022 at 4:40 a.m. surrounded by loving family and friends. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the gymnasium of Kinterbish Jr. High School, located 5586 Kinterbish 10, Cuba. Rev. C. Wayne Davis, pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation. Interment follows in the Delaine family plot of Cagus Cemetery, also Kinterbish 10. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening, (January 28th) from 3-6:00 p.m. at Eastern Star Baptist Church, 112 Curl Road, York, Alabama. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Mattie L. Delaine; children, Linda Mae Ruffin of Austell, GA, Darrell (Lena) Delaine of Huntsville, AL, Vala DeLaine of Montgomery, AL, Johnston (Linda) Delaine of Hope Hull, AL, and Stephanie (Freddy) Green of Smyrna, GA; five sisters, Earnestine Pearce of Matteson, IL, Christine Delaine of Douglasville, GA, Melva Lue Delaine of Cuba, AL, Patricia Foster of Lombard, IL, and Diann Delaine of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Cliff Patrick, Jr.; five sisters-in-law, Bessie West of Meridian, MS, Emma Delaine, Sarah Delaine, Johnnie Delaine, and Jessie Delaine of Cuba, AL; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; and the Eastern Star Baptist Church family of York, AL.
