Annie Bell Gilmore

October 16, 1916 — October 31, 2019

ANNIE BELL GILMORE, age 103, of Ward, Alabama, beloved Matriach of the Gilmore Family, affectionately called "Madea" peacefully transitioned and entered into eternal rest surrounded by family at the residence of her daughter, Willie Mae Danner.  Service of remembrance is slated for Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from Pine Grove AME Zion Church, 3694 Deas Field Road, Ward, with pastor, Rev. Sis. Arceners Jackson delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation; and Sister Renee Pringle serving as Mistress of Order.  She will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in the Gilmore Family plot of Ward Chapel Cemetery, county road #15, also Ward, Alabama.  After the committal service, repast is in the Fellowship Hall of Pine Grove Church.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Nov 8th) from 1-4:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.  On Saturday morning at 10:15 a.m., the processional leaves from the residence of Willie Mae Danner, 724 Fourth Avenue, York, Alabama.  Sister Gilmore is the widow of the late Johnny Gilmore, who preceded her in death January 22, 1992. Those who remain to cherish her memories and to celebrate a life of love and longevity are:  her children, Willie Danner, York, Al., Jessie Pearl and Lizzie Gilmore; both of Ward, Alabama;  ten (10) grandchildren; ten (10) great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends and church members who loved her and whom she dearly loved.  Those who have preceded her in death are her children - Joe, George, Mattie, General, James and Nathan Gilmore and two infant sons, Curtis and Johnny Gilmore, Jr. Sister Gilmore joined Pine Grove in 1927 at the age of eleven where she faithfully served her church as a Solo singer, member of the Lay Council and the Missionary Society and in many other capacities and auxiliaries throughout the years. To the entire Gilmore Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend a measure of comfort to strengthen and sustain you during your profound time of bereavement.
