Psalms 73:2-6 MAJOR ALLEN JEAN ARRINGTON MILLER, age 74 of Livingston, Alabama peacefully transitioned at the residence of her son Cedric Arrington in Toney, Alabama on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 3:12 p.m. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Central Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, located 7053 Carl Turk 12, Livingston. Pastor, Reverend George Hale will deliver words of comfort and consolation. Interment follows with Military Detail in Danner Cemetery, 23954 Highway 17, within the Boyd Community on the Livingston route. Sister Miller will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (May 3rd) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. The processional will leave at 10:30 a.m. from the Miller residence, located 117 Dogwood Circle, Livingston. She was born June 6, 1949 in Sumter County; Boyd, Alabama to the union of the late Allen Arrington and Pearlie Mae Whitfield Arrington. She attended as a faithful member of Central Chapel Primitive Baptist Church participating in many programs and shared her amazing speaking ability on numerous occasions. Her educational accomplishments include being a Registered Nurse, in-service instructor and for a number of years was a nurse at Sumter County Nursing Home. While there, she trained a multitude of aspiring LPN's (Licensed Practical Nurses). In 1980, she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Reserve stationed at the 75th Field Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama serving for over twenty years. She finally retired as a Major in 2009. Those who remain to remember and to celebrate a beautiful well-lived life are: five (5) sons-Maurice DeBruce "Jireh" Arrington., Cedric (Deniecia) Arrington, Sr., Toney, AL., Peter Jarmel (Delisia) Miller, Sr., Meridianville, AL., Allen Jerome (Betty) Arrington, Northport, AL., Demetrius (Tivika) Coleman, Raeford, N.C., two daughters - LaQuitha Renee (Chris) Ridgeway., Livingston, AL., and Laketha Fluker, York, AL., (13) grandchildren; two sisters - Delores (Lenard) Whitfield, Hampton, Va., Cassie Mae (Eddie) Lindsey, Ypsilanti, MI., and Dorothy (Eartha) Amerson, Dayton, OH who grew up with her as a sister; special cousins and friends; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly and whom she also loved.
