Mattie Oliver Coleman

April 8, 1954 — August 25, 2016

MATTIE OLIVER COLEMAN, age 62, of Cuba, Alabama, born in Sumter County; Alabama to the late Willie and Mazerine Baskin Oliver, passed August 25, 2016 at Willow Trace Nursing Center, Butler, Alabama.  Service of Remembrance  is September 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Yantley, Alabama.  Rev. Kenneth Bell will deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation; Rev. Willie D. Burton, church pastor. Interment  follows in Gaston Valley Cemetery, Ward, Alabama.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Sept. 2nd) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.       Those who remain to celebrate her life and to cherish precious memories are: her husband, Johnny ("J") Coleman of Ward, Ala;  four (4) children- Tonya Graham,Cleveland, Ohio, Carrie (Daniel) Lawson, York, AL., Dontary and Justin Burton, both of Huntsville, AL., three (3) sisters- Frances Baskin, Sally Oliver, both of Ward, AL., and  Littie Bush of Mobile, AL.,  three (3) brothers- Willie James Oliver, Cinncinati, OH., Robert Adams, York, AL., and Leslie Tidmore of Clearwater, Fl;  a devoted sister-in-law, Edna C. Brown;  niece, LaShonda Graham;  Sisters-in-law, Bettie Thomas, Sherrie Davis, Ruby Clark, Gennie Coleman and Jacqueline Chess;  brothes-in-law;  Mack J. Coleman and B. C. Coleman; one aunt, Viola Johnson; one uncle, L.B. (Mary T.) Bryant,  both of Hassell, Ala.  She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents;  one sister- Gladys Oliver Thomas; brothers- Willie Oliver, Jr., Joe C. Young and Eddie Rogers Nelson.  She further leaves to cherish her memories, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.         To the Coleman Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home, offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your many hours of sorrow.
