Joe Daniel Denson

JOE DANIEL DENSON, JR, age 62, of the Sumterville Community of Epes, Alabama, known affectionately as "Pig", born in Sumter County to the late Joe Daniel and Marjorie Brown Denson, Sr., passed August 13, 2016 at his sister's (Glenda DuBose) residence in York, Alabama.  Service of Remembrance is Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from First Baptist Church, 254 McConnell Street, York, Alabama.  Rev. Jonathan Byrd, pastor, will deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation.  Mr. Denson will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment follows in Coakes Chapel Cemetery, Ward, Alabama.  After the committal service, the family will fellowship and have repast at the residence of Willie and Glenda DuBose.   Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Tuesday evening (August 16th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.  On Wednesday morning at 9:40 a.m. the processional leaves the DuBose residence, located 714 Derby Drive.        Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruthie Kate Denson, an uncle, Herman Brown, grandparents, Bessie and Henry Brown.  Those who will forever cherish his memories and celebrate his life are:  Sisters, Glenda (Willie) DuBose, York, AL., and Patricia (Arthur) Cook, Hattiesburg, MS;  two nephews- Demetrius (Kim) Denson, York, Al., and Daniel (Aleatha) Cook, Hattiesburg, MS., niece-Brittany DuBose of Ocean Springs Ms., three (3) great nieces- Leah, London and Adriana, two great nephews- Devon and Jaybrien, and a host of cousins, and special friends - Rosie Dial's family, Rev. and Sister Ben Broaden;  Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Sanders, and the Cynthia Hines family and other family members who will truly miss him.       To the Denson Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your many hours of sorrow.
