Andrew Townsend

ANDREW TOWNSEND, age 56, of the Townsend Mission Community of Cuba, Alabama,  born to the late Frank and Pearlean Phillips Townsend, Sr. departed this life June 25, 2016 at his residence.  Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from Union Chapel CME Church, Ward, Alabama, with interment following in Coakes Chapel Cemetery.  Rev. James Campbell, pastor, is to deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation.  Mr.Townsend will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday evening (July 1st) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.  After the committal service, the family will have repast in the Fellowship Hall of Union Chapel.  On Saturday afternoon at 12:40, the processional leaves from the Townsend Family's "home house" located 915 Townsend Mission Loop in Ward.       Those who remain to celebrate his life and to cherish precious memories are:  his five (5) children- Bonita Townsend and Andrea Matthews, both of Detroit, MI., Tiffany and Quartias Rodgers, both of Cuba, AL., and Paul Young of Demopolis, AL;  five (5) brothers- Sam (Helen) Townsend, Chattanooga, TN., Frank Townsend, Arthur (Gloria) Townsend, both of Ward, AL., David Townsend of Tuscaloosa, AL., and Clarence Townsend of  Livingston, AL; six (6) sisters- Dorothy Burton, Linda Graham, Eliza Townsend and Mary (Reginald) Taylor, all of Ward, AL., Lena Miller of Cuba, AL., and Cora Evans of Atlanta, GA;  a special friend, Louise Rodgers of Cuba, Alabama.  In addition, he also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly and he will truly be missed.       To the Townsend family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer continues to remain that your abiding faith in God will lend a measure of comfort to you during your time of sorrow.
