John Edward Woodard

John Edward Woodard, age 75, of Bellamy Alabama, born to Joe Eddie Dubose and Nancy Woodard, passed March 8, 2016 at Rush Foundation Medical Center, Meridian, Mississippi. Service of Remembrance is Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Little Hope Baptist Church located at 3534 Little Hope Road, Lisman, Alabama. Rev. Edward Dubose will deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation; Rev. James Sheffield is church pastor., Mr. Woodard will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in the adjacent Little Hope Cemetery. After the committal service repast and fellowship will be at the residence of Beverly and Gregory Slay. At 10:40 am Saturday morning the processional leaves from the Slay residence. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (March 18th) from 3-6pm in the Weatherly Chapel.     Those who remain to celebrate his life and to cherish fond memories are: four sons: John Woodard II, Benny Woodard, Carl Woodard and Jermaine (LaKetha) Woodard, all of York, AL; four brothers: Willie G. Dubose, Mobile, AL; Eduard (Denia) Dubose, Dixon Mills, AL and Joe Gratham, New Orleans, LA; five sisters: Geraldine Dawson, Mobile, AL; Myrtle Dixon, York, AL; Bobbie Carlisle, Cromwell, AL; and Beverly (Gregory) Slay, Lisman, AL; and Amanda Graham, Houston, TX; five aunts: Sigrett Kelley, Moss Point, MS; Cressie Bonner, Mobile, AL; Alice May Blake, TX, Carrie Dubose, York, AL and Helen Woodard; two uncles: Archie and Romaine Dubose, both of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and other family that loved him dearly. A companion for many years: Brenda Cunningham; four children he raised as his own: Valerie Thomas, Liron Cunningham, Lashaun Cunningham and Ingal Cunningham; Special caregivers Joe and Vanessa Jones.     To the Woodard Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy.
