Earnestine Roberts Sturdivant

     EARNESTINE ROBERTS STURDIVANT, age 74, of York, Alabama born to the late Dock & Vera Mae Thomas Roberts, passed January 24, 2016 at West Alabama Hospice, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.      Service of Remembrance is Friday January 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm from First Baptist Church, 254 McConnell Street, York. Reverend Jonathan Byrd, pastor, will deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation. Mrs. Sturdivant will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment follows in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  After the committal service the family will receive friends for fellowship and repast at the Progresssive Family Life Center, 110 West 4th Avenue, York, Alabama. Visitation for Family and Friends is scheduled Thursday evening (January 28th) from 3-6pm in the Weatherly Chapel. On Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. the processional leaves the Family residence, located 228 Virginia Avenue.     Those who remain to celebrate her life and the cherish precious memories are: Six sons, Fred Roberts, Terry Mitchell, and A. C. Mitchell all of Port Huron, Michigan, Darrell and Robert Lee Mitchell, Gainesville, Florida, and James Mitchell of York, Alabama; Three daughters- Geneva Mitchell, Darlene Smith, and Margie Ann Mitchell of York, Alabama; One brother, Reverend Dock Roberts Jr., Tallahassee, Florida; One sister, Bernice Burgess, also from Tallahassee; Twenty-five grandchildren, Twenty-six great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous other relatives and friends who loved her dearly. She will truly be missed by all.      To the Sturdivant Family we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy.
