MARY LOUISE AUSBROOKS, age 66, of York, Alabama, born in Sumter County to Katie Chaney and the late Steve Matthews, passed October 16, 2015 at UAB Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama. She was the widow of Walter James Ausbrooks to whom she was married for 47 years. Service of remembrance is Friday morning, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Ward, Alabama. Rev. Willie E. Brooks, Jr., will deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation; Dr. Pettis L. Lockett is church pastor. Mrs. Ausbrooks will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Mt. Mariah Cemetery, also Ward. After the committal service, the family will receive friends for repast and fellowship at the Jimerson Family Center, Highway 17, South, Ward, Alabama. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Thursday evening (Oct. 22nd) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Friday morning at 10:20 a.m. the processional leaves the Ausbrooks residence, located 406 Alabama Street. She leaves to celebrate her life memories: one son: Fredrick (Sandra) Ausbrooks, Detroit, MI; three daughters: Delois (Kenneth) Spencer, Angela Ausbrooks, Birmingham, AL, Cherryl Ausbrooks, Detroit MI; six grandchildren: Rapheal, Shatorri, Ronesha, Kenya, Ryan and Stephanie; mother: Katie Chaney, York, AL; six brothers: Steve (Marcia) Matthews, La Grange, GA, Charles (Angela) Chaney, Michael (Zanetta) Chaney, Roosevelt (Karla) Chaney, Detroit MI, Freddy (Shauntia) Chaney, Birmingham, AL, Willie Chaney, York, AL; four sisters; Johnnie Chaney, Marguerite Young, York, AL, Barbara (Bennie) Thomas, Ulanda Chaney, Birmingham, AL; one daughter-in-law: Donya Ausbrooks, Detroit MI; five brothers-in-law, twelve sisters-in-laws, one God-child Shaieda Moore, a special friend Alice Lett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who loved him dearly.
