Grover Steve Chaney

Grover Steve Chaney, age 67, of Los Angeles, California, born in Sumter County Alabama to the late William C. and Ora D. Moore-Chaney passed September 5th, 2015 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California. Service of remembrance will be Saturday October 10, 2015 at 11:00 am at Eastern Star Baptist Church, 112 Curl Road, in the Grant City community York, Alabama. Rev. Charles H. Delaine, pastor, is to deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation. Bro. Chaney will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Mt. Herman Cemetery, 1930 Millville Road 19, also in York. After the committal service , the family will receive friends for repast in the fellowship hall of Eastern Star. On Friday evening (Oct 9th) visitation is scheduled from 3-6pm in the Weatherly Chapel. At 10:40am Saturday morning the processional leaves from the residence of his sister, Bertha Chaney Rodgers, 108 Moore Ave. York, Alabama. Those who remain to honor and celebrate the life of Grover are his: three daughters, Shonda (Bruce) Marshall of Los Angeles, California, Angela and Tanya Chaney of Charleston, SC, two sisters: Bertha (Johnny) Rodgers of York, Alabama and Lucille Chess of Los Angeles, Ca. Two brothers: Albert (Mary) Chaney of Peoria. IL and Paul (Mary) Chaney of Macon GA, fifteen(15) grandchildren many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
